MY  VISION !

I'm passionate about  grassroots development of netball, knowing firsthand the importance of early support and training. I'm dedicated to nurturing young talent in the Northeast, aiming to provide aspiring netballers with the same opportunities and guidance that helped me reach the NSL. My vision is to transform and elevate the level of netball in our region, fostering a new generation of elite players.

I believe that by investing in grassroots programs, we can create a strong foundation for young athletes, ensuring they have access to high-quality coaching in addition to clubs and school training. My goal is to inspire and mentor these young players, helping them develop not only their skills but also their confidence and love for the game. I want to give back to the community that supported me, developing the netball scene in the Northeast, through: specialist workshops, weekly training blocks, one-to-ones, school coaching and ongoing mentorship. I aim to create a supportive and enjoyable environment for all young players to progress from local leagues to elite levels.

A little bit about me ..

Hello!

My name is Ella Bowen, and I am 22 years old. I am a professional netball player entering my fourth season within the Netball Superleague (NSL). I’m originally from the North East of England, where I developed my love for the game.

In the early stages of my career, I progressed through the North East Pathway, moving up from County to Regional, and then onto the NPL. I was even fortunate enough to train amongst Team Northumbria, which provided me with amazing opportunities for development. At the age of 15, I was honoured to be selected for the England program, and I am incredibly grateful to still be part of it now at age 22. Currently, I am in my third year of the Senior Futures Roses program, a journey of which I am very proud.

Over the past year, I was fortunate to represent England at the World Fast5 tournament in Christchurch, New Zealand where we finished in 3rd place. I was also delighted to be selected for my first senior tour with the Roses and headed to New Zealand for the Taini Jamison Series.

I’m known for my energetic and enthusiastic approach both on and off the court. I believe in having fun and not taking life too seriously; however, my commitment to helping athletes achieve their goals is hugely important to me and is something I feel very passionate about. I have been coaching netball for the last 5 years within schools, clubs and performance pathways and I love being able to share the knowledge that I have gained over my playing career to date, with the next generation of players.

I can’t wait to meet you all and work together as we develop netball in the North East!
